When pondering upon the significance of Women's History month, I turn to the professional women in my life that inspire me. The bias of the construction field – where only 10% are women – is that it would be a difficult career for women to flourish. I think of it as just the opposite. With so few female role models, we each forge our individual path to success. When women in construction have the opportunity to work together, my experience has been that we become one another’s mentors of best practices and strategies.
For the remainder of March, I will be sharing stories of some of the women I have had the pleasure of working with and learning from over the years. I am grateful to each of them for their wisdom and their tenacity.
