WBE: Women Business Enterprise

A WBENC-Certified WBE is a business that has gone through a rigorous and stringent certification process to confirm the business is owned, managed, and controlled by a woman or women.

 

DBE: Disadvantaged Business Enterprise

DBEs are for-profit small business concerns where socially and economically disadvantaged individuals own at least a 51% interest and also control management and daily business operations.

 

WOSB: Women-Owned Small Business

SWAM: Small Women and Minority-Owned Business

Everlights is an independent business that is owned, managed, and controlled by a woman and her team. The SWAM Procurement Initiative was established to enhance business opportunities for small, women- and minority-owned businesses and to ensure a level playing field for all small businesses. 

 

LDBE: Local Disadvantaged Business Enterprise

The Department's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program is designed to remedy ongoing discrimination and the continuing effects of past discrimination in federally-assisted highway, transit, airport, and highway safety financial assistance transportation contracting markets nationwide.
